Applied Arts and Sciences

The mission of the Department of Applied Arts and Sciences (AASci) is to be a center of academic excellence for Missoula College students, seeking academic, professional, or technical careers, and for students underprepared for college-level classes.  

In and outside the classroom, the department creates opportunities for students to gain the knowledge, skills, and values required in academic, professional, and civic communities.

The Department of Applied Computing & Engineering Technology

The Department of Applied Computing and Engineering Technology prepares graduates to compete in and contribute to a diverse, dynamic global society. Students acquire the practical skills necessary to pursue entry-level careers in STEM-related (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) occupations.

The Department offers three Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degrees, four Certificate of Applied Science (C.A.S.) programs, three Certificate of Technical Skills Programs, and three Professional Certification Programs.

UM Main Hall

The Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree program provides opportunities for individuals who have completed approved Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree programs. The degree provides additional educational preparation to strengthen students' planned or previous training and improve career advancement opportunities.

Up to 50 technical credits earned as part of an AAS degree may count towards the total credits required for the BAS.

Computer Lab Lectrue

The Business Technology Department of The University of Montana Missoula College collaborates with business and industry to prepare graduates to compete in and contribute to a dynamic global society. The department attracts and retains skilled faculty with the professional experience and theoretical background to utilize diverse instruction which reflects current and emerging business practices.

The department offers six Associate of Applied Arts (A.A.S) degrees, six Certificate of Applied Science (C.A.S) programs, and one Certificate of Technical Training program.

Health Professions

The health programs offered by the Health Professions Departments aim to prepare students for various health careers that can help address health care needs in the community, state and world. Through its evidence-based and current academic, technical, laboratory, and clinical education, the Health Professions Department serves as an advocate for change and improvement in the field of healthcare services.

The Department offers four Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S) Degrees, one Associate of Science in Nursing (A.S.N) Degree, and one Certificate of Applied Science (C.A.S) program.
