Will My Credits Transfer?
Taking a dual enrollment course is a great opportunity, but equally important to the conversation is HOW it will transfer to another institution.
It is the student’s responsibility to verify the transferability of courses to his or her future institution and intended major.
Dual enrollment credit transfers to MUS institutions and most accredited out-of-state institutions, too. It is HOW the receiving institution APPLIES those credits that becomes central to understanding the transfer process. College credits may be accepted as degree-fulfilling requirements or electives. Check with the accepting institution to verify equivalency.
Keep all course syllabi. If an institution has questions about a dual enrollment course, provide a copy of the course syllabus. A syllabus provides information specific to course content, outcomes, and assessments. This process may allow institutions to apply course credits in a more beneficial manner specific to your degree.
