The Health Professions Labs at River Campus

Medical students practice surgery in a classroom setting with a mannequin We learn best by doing, and our Health Professions labs are designed for hands-on learning. Our labs are outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment, from infant warmers to operating tables and x-ray machines, to life-like mannequins that mimic real life medical emergencies.

In the lab setting, instructors share their abundant clinical experience, while open labs allow students to practice the skills they’ve developed.

Inter-professional lab exercises bring together students from all of our programs to work alongside each other, as they will as members of the health care team.

“Don’t practice until you get it right; practice until you can’t get it wrong.”
- Jill Davis, Program Director, Surgical Technology
