Accounting Fundamentals, Certificate of Applied Science

This program is designed to prepare students for entry-level bookkeeping jobs in a wide variety of organizations (including service, retail, non-profit, governmental, and accounting firms).  Bookkeepers maintain financial records, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger.  Courses are designed to introduce accounting fundamentals, administrative skills and the use of technology in the workplace. Students will also improve verbal and oral communication skills. The C.A.S. – Accounting Fundamentals is also appropriate for small business owners that will benefit from a foundational accounting/business curriculum.  Students considering this program should be analytical, detail-oriented, and enjoy using technology.
