Mark Dodge

Adjunct Faculty

Personal Summary

Mark caught the teaching bug while student teaching German at Hellgate HS In 1991. His absence from teaching was short-lived when he spent 3 years as an over-the-road driver with a local Missoula trucking company.  Recognizing his talents, he was selected to be an instructor in their trucking school in 1995 where he helped develop their curricula.  In 1999, based on his demonstrated leadership and management skills, he was promoted to Director of Training.  He was responsible for all aspects of the company’s driver training programs including overseeing a 4-week basic commercial motor vehicle training course, an advanced training course for commercial driving school graduates and an experienced driver refresher orientation. Instructor and student certification, standardization of all training curricula, and student training development were all under his purview and as a result helped win Commercial Carriers Journal’s award, “2006 Innovator of the Year”. From 2010 through 2014, Mark was Safety Director for two local trucking companies and since 2014 resumed his two passions; trucking and teaching at Missoula College.
